Senator Ned Nwoko has linked the growing strain in his marriage to Nollywood star Regina Daniels to what he described as her “struggles with drug and alcohol abuse.”
His statement followed the circulation of a viral video showing Regina Daniels appearing visibly upset and lamenting alleged violence in her marriage.
In the clip, the actress could be heard saying, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a queen. Not again, I can’t stand the violence—it’s too much.”
The footage quickly spread across social media, drawing public concern and an emotional response from a man identified as her brother, who vowed on Instagram to stand by her.
Responding to the uproar, Senator Nwoko took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to deny any accusations of domestic abuse, claiming instead that his wife’s troubling behavior stemmed from substance addiction.
He wrote, “Regina was not always like this. Her ongoing struggle with drug and alcohol abuse is the root of our problems. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety.”
Nwoko further alleged that his attempts to help Regina seek professional treatment have been met with resistance.

Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety. Now she has moved… pic.twitter.com/STlC6fyZPn
“The truth is, I’ve set a clear condition for her to undergo rehabilitation—either in Asokoro or abroad, preferably in Jordan—where she won’t have access to drugs,” he explained.
The senator also claimed that Regina had recently exhibited violent behavior at home, alleging that she attacked three domestic staff members and damaged property.
